“One of the most vital ways we sustain ourselves is by building communities of resistance, places where we know we are not alone..”

— bell hooks

We often say, community is all we have. Yet, the labor to find, build, sustain, and nurture radically inclusive and affirming communities is not always easy. This work requires that we know how each of us enter this space, how we have experienced community (for better or worse), and in what do we aspire community to feel, smell, taste, sound and look like. As we began our journey, the first gatherings will be an opportunity to explore community through breaking bread, a participatory gardening experience, and conversation with community-centered scholars.
